Among the numerous fields of inquiry that undergird my work, perhaps the most essential is the proposition of failure resulting from the default corruption of systems and the ensuing conflict between intention and outcome, or between subjective assessment and objective worth. Failure and the responsibility to succeed is to me the essential element that nutrifies the artistic proposition and all resulting gestures.

My resolution: to divulge a bewildered, disordered and provisional universe, with only brief respites from a general strife shot through with splinters of sharp humour while attempting to offer possibilities and the odd avenue for aspiration.

Since 2023, I have sharpened focus on my inquiries into realities stated and misstated running athwart of chaos and interpretations and / or misinterpretations of meaning.

 

Formally, what may appear as a concentration on the sordid is, in fact, an attempt to grapple with the most essential aspects of this life course.

Parmi les nombreux champs d'investigation qui sous-tendent mon travail, le plus essentiel est peut-être la proposition d'échec résultant de la corruption par défaut des systèmes et du conflit qui s'ensuit entre l'intention et le résultat, ou entre l'évaluation subjective et la valeur objective. L'échec et la responsabilité de réussir sont pour moi l'élément fondamental qui nourrit la proposition artistique et tous les gestes qui en résultent.

Ma résolution : présenter un univers déroutant, désordonné et provisoire, avec seulement de brefs répits dans une lutte générale traversée d'éclats d'humour tranchant. J'essaie de présenter un dédain pour un style fixe, une iconographie et une narration spécifique, mais aussi d'offrir des possibilités et des voies d'aspiration bizarres.

​Sur le plan formel, ce qui peut apparaître comme une focalisation sur le sordide est en fait une tentative de s'attaquer aux aspects les plus essentiels du parcours de vie.
