Among the numerous fields of inquiry that undergird my work, perhaps the most fundamental are the liberating potentialities that result from the default corruption of systems and the ensuing conflict between intention and outcome, or between subjective assessment and objective worth. This to me is an essential element that nutrifies the artistic proposition and all resulting gestures.

My resolution: to divulge a bewildered, disordered and provisional universe, with only brief respites from a general strife shot through with splinters of sharp humour while attempting to offer possibilities and the odd avenue for aspiration.

I have endeavoured to sharpen focus on my inquiries into realities stated and misstated running athwart of chaos and interpretations and / or misinterpretations of meaning.

 

Formally, what may appear as a concentration on the sordid is, in fact, an attempt to grapple with the most essential aspects of this life course.

Parmi les nombreux champs d'investigation qui sous-tendent mon travail, le plus essentiel réside peut-être dans les propositions libératrices qui découlent de la corruption inhérente aux systèmes et du conflit qui en résulte entre intention et résultat, ou entre appréciation subjective et valeur objective. C'est là, à mes yeux, un élément fondamental qui nourrit la proposition artistique et tous les gestes qui en découlent.

Ma résolution : dévoiler un univers déroutant, désordonné et provisoire, ponctué de brefs répit dans une lutte générale traversée d'éclats d'humour mordant, tout en tentant d'offrir des possibilités et quelques pistes d'aspiration.

Je me suis efforcé de concentrer mon attention sur les réalités, énoncées ou déformées, qui se heurtent au chaos et aux interprétations, ou mésinterprétations, du sens.

Formellement, ce qui peut apparaître comme une focalisation sur le sordide est en réalité une tentative de saisir les aspects les plus essentiels de ce parcours de vie.
